Today I had my last AS exam for the summer, which means exam season is over for me. After the busy time of exams and revising it is good to relax. I'm trying not to think about results day. I tried my best and hope I do okay. I don't get to relax for long though as I start work for my next A2 exams on Monday.
Now exams are finished I have more free time to dedicate to this blog. This is the first in my Friday Favourites series, I have wanted to do for a while, where I will talk about anything. This series will make sure I am dedicated to making new posts each week.
Although it is important to revise, it is also important to take a break. For me my break from revision usually consists of drawing, Tumblr/Instagram and watching YouTube videos.
What do you do as a break from revision?
If you are still taking exams I wish you good luck and hope you do well

One year of blogging
On this date last year I made my first blog post. A year ago I was still at high school and a lot has changed since then. Since starting this blog I have left High School, had my prom, had an amazing summer, started A-Levels, met new people and made strong friendships. As always the year has had it's ups and downs but I want to focus on the positives.
Within the last year I have made a range of posts. I have talked about my interests in art, started a Tumblr Favourites series and more personal stories about my life and the observations I have made. For me I find this blog as a place to share my thoughts and interests. My posts have recently become less focused on my personal life and more on other things. But a year on I still have more ideas for blog posts which I look forward to sharing.
Most importantly by starting my own blog I have discovered new blogs I like to read and have received some lovely comments from people who have taken the time to read a post. I am grateful that there are people who have enjoyed reading my blog.
Whether you have just found my blog or have been there since the beginning, thank you so much for taking notice of my little blog. I really appreciate it.xx

Tumblr Favourites May 2014
Here are some of my favourite posts from my Tumblr this month. You can look at my favourites from last month here.
As usual my Tumblr contains gifs and pictures from TFIOS, Harry Potter, Sherlock, Doctor Who, etc. But this month I wanted to show some different posts. This month I have posted more art and general gifs. I have seen more street art and random gifs that are sometimes not linked to any of my fandoms but I feel that I can relate to. There are works by amazing artists that sometimes are unfortunately not credited for their work. I have followed new people and looked at more art based blogs.
However this months Tumblr favours still include posts from my regular fandoms. I still had to include a posts from F.R.I.E.N.D.S and the gorgeous Benedict Cumberbatch. This post of Ross, Chandler and Joey is one of my favourite F.R.I.E.N.D.S gifs.

The Fault in Our Stars
I know there is a lot of hype about TFIOS but it is deserved. I have been a fan since first reading the book and I am really excited for the release of the film, which here in the UK is June 20th. I can't believe I haven't got much longer to wait for the film. I know it will be amazing.
I would definitely recommend reading the book by John Green and then you will understand all the excitement for the film. At my Sixth Form there is a group of us who have read the book and have had huge discussions about the book, the trailer, the cast and the importance of the author being there for the production of the film. It is fair to say we are extremely excited for the film and have planned a trip to the cinema the day the film is released.
Also on Tumblr there have been a lot of TFIOS posts which I have constantly been reblogging. Every month I always TFIOS posts on my own Tumblr, which you may have noticed if you have seen my monthly Tumblr Favourites posts. As you can tell from this post it is fair to say that I am a fan of The Fault in Our Stars.

Art with everyday items
I found this artwork on Tumblr and thought it was clever. I liked the use of incorporating everyday objects into to simple drawings. I think this adds more character to the drawings. Unfortunately I don't know who the artist is.
My favourites are the globe, the cowboy and the record player. Which are your favourite?

Evening painting in the garden
After a busy week of exams I thought it would be nice to sit outside in the garden and do some painting. I thought I would make the most of the warmer weather Britain currently has. I was outside painting for less than an hour as the light began to fade, which explains why the photograph of the paintings is not great quality. But now that I have a week off Sixth Form I hope I can devote more time to painting and drawing.

The freedom of drawing
This is a busy time of year for students as exams are approaching. I'm spending most of my free time revising. However I have moments where I get distracted and start drawing. I draw on scrap pieces of paper, in the margin of my notes and essay plans.
I like drawing as it gives me a break from work. My drawings range from tonal pencil drawings to random doodles. I mainly draw doodles made from shapes from imagination and will sometimes incorporate drawings of objects around me. I have drawn so many that it has got to the point where I keep a journal with all the drawings in.
By drawing I am able to give myself a five minute break from revision to rest. What I am often told about art is that there are no right or wrong creations or responses. I know my doodles are not pieces art, but I just like the freedom of drawing the random shapes and lines.
