Tumblr Favourites April 2014

Here are some of my favourite posts from my Tumblr this month. You can look at my favourites from last month here.

This month my Tumblr was still based around fandoms, such as Harry Potter, Sherlock, the Hunger Games, Doctor Who, F.R.I.E.N.D.S and the Fault in our stars. Within the last two weeks I have read the Hunger Games and Catching Fire. Some of my friends are obsessed with the Hunger Games, so I thought I would see what they were talking about. Since then my Tumblr has featured Hunger Games gifs. This month I also liked more art and fashion posts. On Tumblr you can find some amazing paintings, drawings and street art.

Horror Film Trailer

For our media coursework three of us had to film and edit a horror film trailer. None of us had done anything like this before. Also it didn't help that none of us like horror films and had no ideas for a trailer. But we did it. We made a trailer within a month and with only six and half hours of editing time. We have a lot of footage which we didn't use. We were thinking about using the footage to possibly make a short film.

We are all proud of our production work and wanted to put it on YouTube to show family, friends and anyone else who wants to see it. A huge thank you to our friends who helped us and appeared in the trailer. The three of us in the media group even make an appearance. After exams we will make an outtakes reel, which was hugely requested by friends, showing how much fun this was to make.

Considering this is the first year our sixth form have done media studies, every group produced amazing trailers. Not many of us had a lot of filming and editing knowledge before we did this course.

By the way don't worry it's not scary. It's probably more of a horror comedy. I hope you like our trailer.

Happy Easter

I know it may be a bit late but I wanted to wish you a Happy Easter. I hope you had a good day full of joy and possibly eating a bit too much chocolate.

For me I always have memories of Easter egg hunts round the garden. My Nanny would hide little Easter eggs and chocolate bunnies for us to look for. The most entertaining part would be when my Nanny would forget where she had hidden some of the chocolate. Sometimes we would find Easter chocolate in the garden weeks later.

In our house we like to decorate for Easter. My Mum has an Easter tree which she has had for years. Two years ago I made decoupage eggs which I display for Easter in a lovely yellow basket my Nanny has. Our family like to decorate for important occasions.

I hope you have a good week x

Collective Crazes

Growing up everyone went through those collecting crazes. The ones where everyone was collecting and trading stickers or figures and had to collect all of them. At my school it was Tamagotchies and High School Musical stickers one year. The following year it was football stickers and Doctor Who figures.

I was thinking about this as recently our sixth form was part of a collective craze, the Princess Kinder eggs. If you have not heard of Kinder eggs where were you? In the UK they are a part of people's childhood. Kinder eggs are chocolate eggs that have a suprise toy in them. Occasionally they do themed eggs. This time it was Marvel Avengers and Disney Princesses. Our Sixth Form has a lot of Disney fans and we were all desperately trying to collect all the Princesses and swapping with each other. Must have been quite a sight seeing groups of Sixth Formers rush to the local shop to buy Kinder eggs while reminiscing over their childhood. The shops soon realised the popularity and started special offers to persuade people to buy more Kinder Eggs. But don't worry us Sixth Formers are not spending all of our money on these chocolates.

Have you or do you still join in any collective crazes?

My Disney Princess collection is still missing Cinderella
