It seems to be a habit of mine that I don't always develop my ideas. I have thoughts for stories, paintings and blog posts that I let pass by without much thought. Just a fleeting thought caught up in a strand on other ideas. This needs to stop as who knows where it will take me.
This is why I have began to get into the habit of noting down my ideas. Even if I look back and alter the initial idea slightly, at least I haven't forgot it. It still exists and could lead to something big such as a sense of achievement.

Bursts of creativity
We all have those moments where inspiration takes us. We have an idea for a book, video, present, day trip, anything really. We feel motivated to take note of that idea and see it through. These moments can come from anywhere at anytime and have the potential to turn into something great.
The important thing is to make the most of that motivation as it will inevitably run out, leaving you to wait for the next burst of creativity to strike.

Italy Adventures
Recently I was lucky enough to go on holiday with my Dad on a cruise round the coast of Italy. For as long as I can remember Italy has been somewhere I've wanted to travel to. There have been so many places within Italy that I have discovered through research and want to make time to visit. The week long cruise was not enough time to see everything, but it gave me a flavour for Italian life and has made me want to travel back as soon as possible. One day I hope to do a road trip around Italy, I'll save up for that first though. I'll get some friends or family, load up my car E.T. and set off on an adventure.
I could go on a lengthy, in depth, ramble about how much I enjoyed far too brief time in Italy, however I will abbreviate to prevent you from scrolling through pages of text. We joined the ship in Genoa, which involved an incredible view as flew over the Alps. Something that I enjoyed about the cruise is that you'd go to sleep and wake up in a different location. We left Genoa and woke up in Florence and travelled to Naples in the same day. Even on the sea days we found ourselves waking up Dubrovnik (Croatia), and were able to watch out as we travelled into Venice. This swift and easy transition from place to place appealed, however you don't get enough of a chance to really take in all your surroundings as you are at times rushed from place to place to have a opportunity to see everything, as well as trying to keep cool in the August heat.
One of the main subject matter of my photographs was sunsets, as I love the variation in colours and feel that the lighting can transform a landscape. On my travels I am known to collect three things; Postcards, sunset photographs and thimbles (which are being difficult to find in souvenir shops). I also collected as many photographs as I could as I walked round with my camera, trying to capture Italian life. A particular part of Italian culture that Dad and I enjoyed was the food and drink, think we tried most of the flavours of gelato available.
A part of cruising life that I enjoyed was having the opportunity to dress up in the evening. It did not bother me in the slightest wearing heels every night as I didn't feel out of place. It was lovely on our two formal evenings seeing everyone dressed up in their finest, where it is fair to say that some went all out with ball dresses and tailored suits. The night life on the ship was a favourite of my Dad's where we met some amazing people and sampled most of the cocktails and shots on offer, which led to my Dad's ritual karaoke session that he can never live down thanks to the evidence on my phone.
It is fair to say that I would recommend a trip to Italy if you ever get the chance. You may not have time to se everything, but even the smallest taste of the culture will make you want to return for more.

Running through life
Recently I have had a great urge to pick up running. Not for a physical health reason but for a way for me to process my thoughts. To stop my mind racing I thought I'd start running to control it. Just put my headphones in and follow the local scenic footpath. Got to make the most of this weather we've been fortunate to have somehow.
We all have moments where we want to run from our thoughts, so I have decided to run with them. I'll be able to calmly process them as I take in the world around me, rather that sitting and dwelling with no real perspective.

Latitude
I recently went to my first festival with some friends. Latitude Festival is a mainly a music and comedy festival that has a range of activities for a more family orientated experience. My friends and I mainly went for the comedy aspect. It's fair to say that for some the trip had its highs and lows, with friendship fallouts and some friends struggling with the camping aspect of the festival. Despite all of that it was still a great experience, filled with many comedy acts, late night dancing and matching hat to cover up the festival hair.
A highlight for me was meeting my favourite comedian Adam Hills. I was so excited about watching The Last Leg Live, that having the chance to meet Adam Hills, Alex Brooker and Josh Widdecombe was a huge surprise. I had thought about what I'd say to Adam Hills if I ever met him. I would've said how I've watched the show since it first aired for the Paralympics,
However none of these ideas came out as the second Adam Hills said hello, I just blurted out 'I'm a huge fan!' My hands were shaking so much that m surprised the photo came out clearly. So there it was, my not so cool, almost fan-girlesque, meeting with my all time favourite comedian.
One of our favourite parts was the evening events where we could listen to amazing live acts, such as Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds who headlined, and the Dj sets that took place later each evening. The great music and bright lights gave us all a chance to dance and have fun, reminding us of the true reasons why people enjoy attending festivals.

A change in direction
This year I seem to have taken a break for blogging. With all the pressures of exams and revision I felt that my brain couldn't process a straight trail of thought to create an insightful and interesting post. Since having time to think I have realised that I would like to just post my thoughts and capture how I feel at certain moments of time. Over the year I have been documenting my thoughts within a small journal that I hide and do not share with anyone. It's my private place where I place my ideas on to paper and keep them safe.
Now I feel it is about time to share some of them with you. I'll let you into my world on the good and bad days in the hope that they will help you and make us all realise that we have days like these. Days where we are so happy that we could scream from the roof tops, followed by days where you feel crushed by the weight of fear of the unknown.
I hope you'll stand by me as I attempt to recapture my blogging mindset.

Why must things change?
We are all told that change is good and to not fear it. However we are not warned about the changes that creep up on us. The ones where one day we stop and think to ourselves, 'what happened there?'. We can't explain how or why but we find ourselves missing something and feeling nostalgic for a time gone by.
One of the more frustrating things is the unexplained changes where no one can understand why the change occurred. A change in feeling? Loss of contact? Other issues taking priority? We can't be entirely sure.
I guess that at the moment I'm being constantly reminded about the unpredictability of life. One moment you can be on a path that only seems to go up as you find pressures fade and you feel that everyone and everything in your life is in place. But enevitably it is followed by a path filled with self doubt and grey skies. All that we can hope for is that one day the clouds will shift and that once again we will see blue skies.
